Weekly Wrap-up!

Happy Friday Ladies!

I hope you have had a nice week. This weekend we will be celebrating my best friends birthday so I ma on cake duty (that is tomorrows project!) I promise to post a pic of my cake creation next week. Until then here is what has been happening lately.

The weather is heating up here and someone isn't too happy about it. This little guy has started sleeping with his ear hanging in his water bowl #whateverworks.

My parents have been in Europe traveling and retuned this week with a sweet gift for me. My favourite chocolates from Paris. Angelina's is a french icon in terms of chocolate and is a mandator stop whenever I am in Paris. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Speaking of travels, my grandparents flew in from Texas this week, bringing me a new Texas State Fair tee-shirt. I love Texas and this "cheesy memorabilia tee-shirts" but mostly I love the people who bought it for me. So blessed to have them in my life!

On Wednesday I shared with you some of my favourite plaid pieces. You can see the full post here.

It is officially two weeks until we leave for our trip to Vietnam so I am planning like a mad woman! Any suggestions on places to eat, markets or particular attractions are more than welcome! You guys always have great travel advice.

Last up,  a beautiful and honest sentiment which I found this week and just had to share!

Have a terrific weekend!

Mad about plaid!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I am mad about plaid and seeing as it is fall for most of Y'all at the moment. I thought I would share some of my favourite recent plaid finds.

I shared this plaid on the blog earlier in the week. You can see my post about it here.

I just found this plaid roll sleeve shirt dress on Nordstrom and ordered one straight away. I mean so cute right!! You can find it here.

A classic black and white plaid is a fall essential and this one from forever 21 is on sale for less than $20. What a bargain! Check it out here.

I bought this boyfriend shirt dress at the beginning of the season and have become obsessed. This style is perfect for everyday and can easily be dressed up. Needless to say this is an essential. You can find it here.

Last up, I saw this plaid on Nordstrom earlier today and immediately added it to my wish list. So cute! Check it out here.

Weekly Wrap-up

Happy Friday ladies!

The weekend is here and I am sooooo excited to have a quite couple of days. This week has been absolutely crazy between work, organising our upcoming trip to Vietnam, visiting relatives and the regular weekday grind I am totally exhausted! But before I curl up on the couch and catchup on Greys Anatomy (so excited for this weeks episode! Eeeekkk!) lets take a look at life lately.

Spring has officially sprung here which means that the Jacarandas are in full bloom, covering the streets with gorgeous purple flowers. I love when these trees flower because it means christmas is right around the corner!

We headed out to dinner on Wednesday night and ended up at our favourite desert bar. Not sure how that happened ;) Needless to say it was delicious as usual and everyone left on a sugar high!

I snapped this picture the other day and just had to share it with you all. Look ho smart louis is, proof reading my latest marketing report!

I posted this picture on instagram this morning. All pieces from this outfit have featured on the blog in the last few weeks. You can find my post on this shirt here and my sandals here.

Last up, a very important sentiment to remember today and always!

It's been one of those days!

It Thursday ladies, which means the weekend is nearly here!

I am so excited for this weekend because I am absolutely exhausted. Today has just been one of those days that has left me buggered. I am sure you can all relate! You know those days when the laundry isn't done, dinner is far from five star and you don't know whether to collapse in a heap in front of the bachelor, cry or pour yourself a big old glass of wine. I may just do all three!

But before I 'wind down' from my rather testing day,  here are a few of my favourite quotes that I love and thought I would share with you gorgeous girls.

Sorry for the short post today, I promise to be back tomorrow with a jam-packed weekly wrap up.

Love letters of great men Volume 1

Happy Wednesday!

I hope your weeks are going well. Today we are talking about a recent book purchase of mine, which I  think some of you will find insanely corny. I also have a feeling that a few of you will be on Amazon ordering yourself a copy before finishing this post.

As you guys know I am a total sucker for romance and a book read. Thus, the book of the week is Love Letters Of Great Men. Volume 1.

If you have seen the Sex and the City movie you will remember Carrie reading the book in bed and Big's quote from the book during his wedding vows.

This book features love letters from some of histories most fascinating (and romantic) men, including Beethoven, Lord Byron, Mark Twain and John Keats to name a few. This book is a great source of inspiration if you are indeed writing your own wedding vows or a speech. I however purchased this book simply because I am an incurable romantic.

You can purchase the book here. Have a great day girls!

Even Valentino is getting in on the espadrilles action. At $1300 these ones may have to stay on the wish list a little long. *sigh

Our week started with a checkup at the vets. Someone has finally mastered sitting and laying down on queue, I couldn't be prouder ;)

Herb Crumbed Veal

Morning Everyone!

This Weeks recipe is a super simple mid week meal that is totally delish and a real crowd pleaser. I actually made it last night. By the silence at the dinner table and polished plates I knew it was a winner straight away!

3 slices mixed grain bread
1/3 cup flat-leaf parsley
1 tablespoon roughly chopped chives
1 tablespoon thyme leaves

Add parsley, chives, thyme, garlic. Process on speed 3 until finely chopped.  Add breadcrumbs and cheese. Process until combined. Season with salt and pepper.

Place flour in a bowl.  Whisk egg and milk together in a bowl. Coat veal lightly in flour. Dip in egg mixture.  Lightly coat in breadcrumbs.

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

Happy Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I am so excited about todays book post because this has to be one of my all time favourite books. If you haven't heard of this global best seller a) where have you been? and b) Get on Amazon right now and  buy yourself a copy! This book follows one woman's search for the meaning of life, love and faith as she travels the world.

This book was also made into a fantastic movie in 2010, by the same title and stars Julia Roberts!

Now if the title of the book wasn't quite clear enough, this book enters around my three favourite things in this world. Eating (my favourite hobby), faith and love! This book has travel, romance and some big philosophical questions. I loved it!

And once you have finished the book you can rent the movie. Win!

Have a great day friends :)

Our weekend trip to Cardiff, Wales.

Morning Everyone!

I hope your week is off to a great start. This weeks travel post is all about the beautiful land of Wales. Our visit to Cardiff, Wales was another weekend trip and was lots of fun. Wales is situated on the west coast of the U.K so it is home to some gorgeous landscape and beautiful bays.

You guys know I am a total sucker for architecture, so visiting Cardiff and getting to experience some of their amazing architecture was a thrill for me! This here is the Wales Millennium Centre.

Next up was a walk to the Senedd, or National Assembly Building. This building is seriously amazing! It made my little architect heart skip a beat!

We visited Cardiff Castle, which as you would expect was gorgeous. However sadly there where no photos permitted inside of the humongous castle words, so you will just have to take my work for it ;)

Last up is Bute Park. Oh my goodness this park is insanely beautiful and trust me I have been to a lot of parks! I am note sure if it was the weather when we visited (October) or if it is always this colourful and such, but if you find yourself in Cardiff this is a must do.

We had a whale of a time in Cardiff! Ah that was a bad pun! Anyways have a wonderful Tuesday ladies and I'll see you tomorrow :)
