Friday Favourites

Happy Friday Friends!

The week is drawing to a close and that means its time for the long weekend! Woohoo! This weekend I plan on hanging out with family and friends as well as catching up on some reading and sleep. It should be a good one!

One

On Wednesday night I enjoyed some time with a few of my favourite ladies. And post dinner (which was amazing, thanks Soph ;) we enjoyed a little cake! I have shared this recipe before but if you missed it you can check it out here. Cake + my ladies = a favourite for sure!

Two

Summer certainly isn't far off for us in the Southern hemisphere. This week we have enjoyed a swim or two as well as some serious heat! That being said I'm a Summer lover through and through so I can wait for beach trips, lazy pool days and all the ice blocks!

Three

I  have officially finished Gilmore Girls :( Which I see as both an achievement and a sign I waste far too much time haha! But I'm moving onto my next Netflix project - House. A number of people have recommended this show to me. I'm only two episodes in so lets see how it goes!

Four
I have been looking at these sandals for about a million years and finally think its time to take the plunge and buy a pair already! Early christmas present to myself? I think yes! You can find these Tory Burch delights online here.

Five
Finally as always some wise words to start your weekend. You can find this pin and many more on my Pinterest here!

Have a wonderful weekend friends, I will be back on Tuesday after the long weekend!

Place the pizza bases on 2 baking trays. Spread evenly with pasta sauce and top with mozzarella. Sprinkle over the chorizo, goat’s cheese, carrot and half the onion.

Whats Up Wednesday!

Happy What's Up Wednesday everyone!

Today I'm linking up with a few of my favourite bloggers to share things I'm loving, what I'm eating and everything in between! Grab a cup of tea and settle in ladies!

What we're eating this week

I will be sharing this spring Pizza recipe on the blog tomorrow. Chorizo and Carrot pizza may sound like a weird combination but trust me on this one. Be sure to check back here tomorrow for all the details!

What I'm reminiscing about

A beautiful and very quick beach get away! We are so lucky to have so many amazing beaches so close by. I'am still faulted by their beauty every time!

What I'm loving

My amazing new sage green puffer vest from Country Road. This stunner is currently reduced and still has several in stock. Check it out here

What we have been up to

School holidays are here again, so I'm on babysitting duty. I love getting to spend some quality time with these sweet little people!

What I'm dreading

My next skin check and follow up appointment. I had a mole removed off my back last week and need to go back to the doctors for a check up etc. Eeekkk! Not a fan of the doctors!

What I'm working on

Research reports! I have a few huge reports coming up in the next two months as well as a chaotic schedule so I'm trying to get a jump start on things. Wish me luck!

What I'm excited about

My beautiful new haircut thanks to my friends at the Diva Lounge. I have always been a blonde so it was time to mix it up and go a little darker. It has been a long time coming but I'm glad I finally took the plunge. Fellow brunette here!!

What I'm watching / reading

I have just finished Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari. I really enjoyed this book and spoke about it previously on the blog here.

And then yesterday, I finished Gilmore Girls - cue the crying and moping here! I can not wait until November when we can catchup on the new season! Woo hoo #thankyounetflix

What I'm listening to

Funny but true. I think I will have this song stuck in my head for the rest of my days!

What I'm wearing

I have been trying to make the most of my winter wardrobe before it starts to warm up. I shared a few of my outfits from this past week here! That being said we went swimming yesterday so I think Spring is officially here!

What I'm doing this weekend

Sleeping in, hanging out with friends, eating out and relaxing. Oh and probably crying due to post Gilmore Girl depression :(

What I'm looking forward to next month

Celebrating my sweet friend Claire's B'day with these lovely ladies. We will be celebrating with a girls weekend to the beach and I'm pumped!

What else is new

Not a whole lot! Christmas and New years eve planning is in full swing. The weather here is heating up and that means its beach season! Yippee!  Life is pretty swell :)

Have a wonderful day friends and see you tomorrow!

How I keep fit

Happy Monday Ladies!

I hope your weekends were wonderful and you are all well rested for the week ahead. Life around here has been quite with flu season still lingering :( However in the last day or so, I managed to get my butt out of bed and back running. Today I thought I was share my three favourite ways to keep fit.

Now disclaimed I am by no means a fitness junkie. I enjoy cake and sometimes have to skip my daily workout if my day is complete chaos. But in general I try to work out for a least 40 minutes a day. Again, this doesn't happen every single day but its whats I aim for!

I love running, always have, always will. I find it a great way to clear my head and get those endorphins pumping. Plus its a great way to wear out the crazy dog, so win win! I try to run everyday and maybe one of these days I will get around to running a half marathon. Something that has been on the to-do list for about five years haha!

Yoga is another favourite of mine. I used to take two yoga classes a week for one hour and LOVED them. But I couldn't commit to the times this year, so as of late I have been using the Yoga Academy App. I have mentioned this app on the blog before but its so damn good I just had to share again. If you haven't checked it out, find more info here!

Third and final, my group classes, whether its spin class or some bizarre dance combo class *which I have taken many a time. Group classes are an awesome was to stay fit, socialise and try something new. I haven't included a picture of this, because trust me, that sweaty exhausted look ain't a pretty one ;)

Have a wonderful day friends and go get those endorphins going!

Friday Favourites!

Happy Friday Friends!

This week has been a quite one with my off sick for most of the week :( However I managed to squeeze a little fun and shopping in amongst the rest and fevers! Here are a few things I'm loving this week.

One

I bought this vest in black and the beginning of winter and practically lived in it. Although it will warm up here soon I couldn't resist snagging another one in this sage green, ahead of next year! What can I say this lady can't resist a great sale! Thanks Country Road!

Two

Speaking of Country Road, their seasonal sale has me all sorts of giddy! With 25% off sale items on Mens, Women's, Kids and home, you will be laughing at your savings! Check all items out here!

Three

Sunday night was the Emmy's and that means it was time to whip out the chocolate and head to the couch with my sister. For as long as I can remember my sisters and I have always watched the Emmy, Oscars etc. together. The gowns, the speeches and the laughs, its a favourite for sure!

Four

I just started this book and I'm enjoying it so far. I'll let you know more about it as I read on but for now it seems to be a good weekend read :)

It's Wednesday and that means its time to talk fashion! Life Lately

Hey there Tuesday!

I'm still at home resting today but thought I should share a little bit of life lately. There hasn't been a whole lot going on since my speedy trip to NYC. But I'll take those slow, calm, wine filled weeks over chaos anytime ;)

Beautiful Bangalow!

Last Wednesday the stars aligned for my best friend and I, we managed to have a simultaneous day off, free of work and chores. So naturally, we bolted for the beach. We headed south to Byron Bay (one of my favourite day spots)  and then drove to Bangalow, a near by farm town with amazing views!

While we where beach side, we hit up my favourite Mexican restaurant ever, Miss Margarita, for some lunch

And a cheeky mid-day cocktail! It was fab!

I posted this pic on Instagram last week. My Gilmore girls addiction has lead me to cook with the cast! I basically have the show on in the background permanently now #notsorry

This last week has seen me house sitting for friends. Along with the bird, fish, chickens, dog and cat, there are also three alpacas. Yes, you herd correct, alpacas!

Thursday night was ladies night and that meant, wine, cheese, food and laughs. I'm so thank full for my sweet friends!

And then the flu hit :( So this past weekend hasn't been all that exciting. Primarily noodles, Gilmore Girls and sleeping. Quite, cozy and cold tablet coma's!

Here is to being back on my feet and a great week!

Sick Leave!

Morning sweet friends!

I'm currently curled up on my death bed couch battling a strep throat and nasty cold so I will be resting up today :( But I promise to be back and blogging tomorrow.

Until then you can find me here, enjoying some noodle soup and the company of the Gilmore Girls! Onto season 6  thanks to a very quite and wet weekend EEEKKK!

Have a good day everyone!

Friday Favourites!

It's Friday! Woohoo!

Today I have to get something cut out of my back and will need a few sticks so it looks like we will behaving a quite weekend. But this is such an important reminder to go and get those skin checks ladies! So so so important!

Ok so before I head off to my appointment I'm sharing this weeks favourites!

One

Yesterday I shared one of my all time favourite Desserts, a traditional Aussie Pavlova! This recipe is super easy and insanely delicious. Try one this weekend! If you missed the post you can catch it here!

Two

On Wednesday, a friend and I took a quick day trip to Byron Bay. It isn't often we both find ourselves with a free day and we know that these empty Wednesdays' won't last forever, so jumped at the chance for a beach trip together! The weather was windy but gorgeous!

Three

Last Sunday we headed to the movies to escape the rain and see Sully. First off Tom Hanks can do no wrong in my eyes so I was excited to see this film. Second of all Sully is based on the incredible true story of the Hudson Landing. Third the film is directed by Clint Eastwood. Put those all together and you have one amazing movie. If you are looking for something to do this weekend, then look no further!

Four

On a completely random note, we all know how I love my candles. Is there anything better than having a clean house and a candle on?!!? No, no there isn't ;) My recent candle of choice is Rio Degenario, by Glasshouse. Rather fitting seeing as we have just celebrated this Olympics there! This candle is passionfruit and lime scented and is my new favourite. Grab yours online here

Five
As always some wise words to start your weekend. You can see all my favourite quotes and more on my Pinterest board here!

Have an absolutely splendid weekend friends!
